Love these black and whites....great bird shots, but I love the stark tree. Happy weekend James. Hey....what lenses are you using. I'm saving up for something better. Can't go with one of those high end $1,000+ at this time, but I'd like a nice mid-range...something sharp. Do you use anything like that?
I'm completely enchanted by so artistic set of images. The happy birds meeting, the impressive lines in that tree composition, the solitude and poetry of the single bird capture, and mainly the magical feeling and reflections in your last composition. Bravo! :) Léia
Terrific B&W captures for the day, James! I particularly love the third shot of the bird and, like John, it's his eye that makes it so special! Have a great weekend!
I love this series of black and white images. The high contrast, subject matter, the pared down compositions, and the perfect depth of field for each subject. Excellent work!
I like these bird and tree monochromes... and I like where I am (but not overly enthused about leaving yet again). The blackbirds eye is compelling, as are its feet.

It seems they're having fun in the first shot!

I love the black bird and the fountain, clever how you hid yourself in the reflection!
C'est difficile de photographier les oiseaux, alors je suis admirative! Quant à être où je voudrais..hum, pas sûre!:o)
I love the one bird in focus on top
and the prominent dark eye in the 3rd shot
these are all wonderful James
My vote is for the third one, it's his eye that makes the shot

Great set of images James. Beautiful B&W.
Love the b&w, especially the last one!
all are wonderful, but perhaps the first for me -- some stark threat in that tree grasping like a skeletal hand!!
Very nice shots! The first one looks as if you placed the bird on the picture after.

Neat angles you chose for these shots. I like your creativitiy!
